The modality-intensive components of Chronos programs — sequenced to the phase of care, not offered as a menu.
Recovery modalities at Chronos are not a menu of gadgets. They are tools selected and sequenced based on the phase of care, the tissue, and the clinical problem.
Class IV laser and photobiomodulation are the same underlying therapy — therapeutic red and near-infrared light (roughly 600–900nm) working through mitochondrial photoreception: increased cytochrome c oxidase activity, increased ATP production, reduced oxidative stress, and modulation of the local inflammatory cascade. The difference is dose and application. Higher-power delivery drives photonic energy past the musculature into deep tissue — the workhorse for post-surgical soft tissue recovery, symptomatic OA joints, and the consolidation phase of tendon recovery. Lower-intensity delivery over longer surfaces emphasizes cellular support and is used in prehabilitation and integration phases.
Acoustic pressure waves triggering neovascularization and restarting a stalled healing cascade. The core modality for chronic tendinopathy — Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff, lateral epicondyle. Typically delivered in 6–8 sessions spaced 5–7 days apart, with loading progression coordinated alongside.
Capacitive and resistive radiofrequency current generating deep endogenous heat. Improves fascial glide, local perfusion, and soft tissue mobility. Used in consolidation phases of tendon recovery and reintegration phases of post-op recovery. Frequently paired with manual soft tissue work.
Through our clinical partnership with Pacific Coast Sports Medicine and Dr. Michael Sheps, D.C., whose Brentwood practice at 11710 Wilshire Boulevard is co-located with Dr. Rahman's office. Dr. Sheps is a chiropractor credentialed in the McKenzie Method and has been providing non-invasive therapies to elite athletes in West LA for over two decades. Chronos sets the clinical plan. Dr. Sheps delivers the modality program to that plan.
Modality sessions are available as part of a Chronos program or membership plan. À la carte sessions are generally not the most effective use of these tools — the point of the system is that modalities are sequenced to a phase of care — but one-off sessions for specific indications may be available case-by-case.
