Shoulder arthritis and labral wear sit in an awkward spot: often not bad enough for a replacement, but real enough to limit overhead sports, lifting, and sleep. The usual advice — "come back when it's worse" — isn't a plan. Chronos builds a structured, surgeon-led plan to preserve the shoulder and keep you active, and gives you a straight answer on whether surgery is actually needed.

Is this you?

What we evaluate

Dr. Rahman, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and shoulder specialist, reviews your imaging and examines the shoulder to separate arthritis and labral wear that respond to a structured plan from problems that genuinely need surgery. We also assess the mechanics, strength, and loading patterns that drive shoulder health.

How we approach it

Care runs through the Joint Longevity Program: shoulder-specific loading and mechanics, treatment modalities, and, where appropriate, a range of orthobiologic and regenerative options — including peptide and emerging cellular (stem cell–derived) approaches, and high-dose PRP where appropriate — discussed individually and under informed consent. Many are investigational and not FDA-approved; whether any is reasonable for you is a clinical decision, not a guaranteed outcome. If your shoulder has a mechanical problem that needs surgery, we will tell you, and Dr. Rahman's surgical practice is available.

Common questions

Can shoulder arthritis be treated without surgery?

Often, yes — particularly earlier arthritis. A structured plan of loading, modalities, and (where appropriate) injection-based options can help symptoms and function. Advanced, bone-on-bone arthritis may ultimately need a replacement.

Do labral tears always need surgery?

No. Many degenerative labral changes are managed without surgery. Traumatic, unstable tears in specific patterns are more likely to benefit from repair, which is what an evaluation determines.
